Renovation of the old Temple
Balalayam is a significant ritual performed in Hindu temples, during the renovation and Kumbhabhishekam ceremony. The term “Balalaya” means a temporary abode. This pooja involves transferring the divine energy from the main deity to a temporary structure or idol, ensuring that the sanctity and spiritual essence of the temple are preserved during the renovation period. Balalaya Pooja took place at Venkatreiddyur Shri Mariamman Temple in 2022 on May 15th in the presence of Kumar Iyer, with many devotees participating.
