To honour Goddess Bhoomi (Mother Earth)
Bhoomi Pooja (also known as Palakkal Pooja) is a traditional Hindu ritual performed to honour Goddess Bhoomi (Mother Earth) and Vastu Purush (the deity of directions) before starting temple construction work. The ritual is intended to eradicate any negative energies or Vastu doshas (faults) present in the land, ensuring a positive environment for the construction.
At Venkatreiddyur Shri Mariamman Temple, Palakkal(Boomi) Pooja was performed on 8th September 2022, in the presence of Kumar Iyer, all the village people participated and graced the occasion.
